Chapter 4 | Structure & Pages

You use the Structure and Pages Module if you wish to create or adjust a page.

Excercise 4.1 | Creating a page

In order to create a page, go to the Structure and Pages module via the asset Website. Then follow the steps below;

  1. Select your website
  2. Create a new folder
  3. Click on the action button  Add
  4. Give a title: Your First Page
  5. The URL-field is automatically filled for you after you enter a title. In this example, your-first-page.html becomes the URL. If desired, you can change this manually by giving your own URL. Make sure that you end with .html
  6. Underneath the URL insertion field, you will see how the page is shown in an address bar of a browser. The URL is; http://your-domain-name.com/yourfolder/your-first-page.html
  7. Select the template 'Full Width', or a template you want to use for this page
  8. Click on the button OK & Continue
  9. The page editor is opened, now add text
  10. Click on OK of want to save the page but not yet publish
    Click on OK and Publish to save and publish the page
    Click on Cancel if you do not wish to save the change

 Exercise 4.2 | Add content to a page

Open the page created in exercise 4.1 by selecting it and then click on the edit icon
.Following steps below;

  1. You have opened the page
  2. Click in the Content block (1)  ‘Insert’ on the icon  text
  3. The page editor is opened, now add text
  4. Click on the button Insert
  5. Click on OK of want to save the page but not yet publish
    Click on OK and Publish to save and publish the page
    Click on Cancel if you do not wish to save the change

Exercise 4.3 | Publish page

Pages that have one of the statuses below can be published;

  • New and not published, marked with a  yellow flag
  • Published but changed, marked with a red flag

Follow the steps below for this;

From the ‘Edit’ mode

  1. Click on Structure and Pages via the asset Website
  2. Select the page you have created
  3. Click on the icon change
  4. Click on the tab Preview and check the content of the page
  5. Click on the button OK & Publish
    Notice that the flag of the page is now green , status Published and not changed
     

Via 'list-view'

  1. Click on Structure and Pages via the asset Website
  2. Select the page you have created
  3. Click on the action button publish
  4. Click on the button Yes
    Notice that the flag of the page is now green , status Published and not changed
