Chapter 9 | Images

All your images at one central location within the system. You can simply manage your images with the Images Module and then add these to your pages, articles or news reports.

Exercise 9.1 | Uploading image(s)

To upload images, go to the Images Module via the asset Media. Afterwards, follow the steps below;

  1. Click on the +-sign of the folder Images
  2. Click on the icon add folder, to create a new folder
  3. Give the folder a name: your-name and click on OK
  4. Select the folder you created
  5. Click on the icon add
  6. Click on the button Select files in the popup
  7. Browse to the folder location where you have saved your images on your computer
  8. 7. Select the image or multiple images. You can select multiple images by clicking on them with a pressed CTRL key + left mouse button. Click on Open
  9. The image(s) are loaded
  10. When the loading has finished, the popup shows an overview of the selected files
  11. You can cancel an image from the queue by clicking on the recycle bin, Cancel,  behind the image
  12. Click on OK if you wish to upload image(s) but do not want to publish them; these are then applicable but are not shown for visitors.
    Click on OK & Publish to upload and publish the image(s)
    Click on Cancel if you do not want to upload the image(s)

Exercise 9.2 | Apply image

You can place images on a page, article, news reports or activities.

Follow the steps below to place an image on a page;

  1. Go to the Structure and Pages module via the asset Website
  2. Select the folder you have created
  3. Select the page you have created in exercise 4.1
  4. Click on the icon edit
  5. Click on the icon edit which appears as soon as your mouse moves across the text block you created
  6. The page editor is opened
  7. Click in the editor
  8. Click on icon image
  9. Click on the +-sign of the folder Images
  10. Click on the +-sign of the folder you created in exercise 9.1
  11. Select one image that is in your folder
  12. Click on the button Insert
  13. Click on the button Change
  14. Click on OK if you want to save but not yet publish the page
    Click on OK and Publish to save and publish the page
    Click on Cancel if you do not wish to save the change

Exercise 9.3 | Edit image

Sitebox offers you the opportunity to edit an image. The following options are possible with the image editor;

  • Rescale images
  • Rotate images to the left
  • Rotate images to the right
  • Crop images
  • Give an effect to images
  • Mirror images both horizontally and vertically
     

We are going to rescale the image of exercise 9.1 uploaded by you. You apply this as soon as you want to reduce the dimensions of the image. We advise against enlarging small images; this will not benefit the quality of the image.

You following the steps below to rescale the image,

  1. Go to the Images module via the asset Media
  2. Select the folder you have created in exercise 9.1
  3. Select the image
  4. Click on the icon edit
  5. Enter a width, make sure that Constrain Proportions is active
    Notice that the height of the image is adjusted automatically, the ratio remains intact
  6. Click on the button Resize
  7. Click on OK of want to save the page but not yet publish
    Click on OK and Publish to save and publish the page
    Click on Cancel if you do not wish to save the change

Exercise 9.4 | Upload new image(s) while editing a page

It is possible to upload new images at the same time when you edit a page. You have to follow the steps below to do so;

  1. Go to the page your created in exercise 4.1 via Structure and Pages
  2. Select the page and then click on the icon edit
  3. Change the text block by clicking on the icon edit on the content block
  4. Go to a location in the editor where you wish to insert an image
  5. Click on the icon Image in the page editor
  6. Click on Upload new image
  7. Click on the button Select file
  8. Browse to the folder location where you have saved your images on your computer,
  9. Select the image or multiple images. You can select multiple images by clicking on them with a pressed CTRL key + left mouse button. Click on Open
  10. The image(s) are loaded
  11. Once the loading has finished, the popup will show an overview of the selected files
  12. You can remove the image in question from the queue by clicking on the recycle bin behind the image
  13. Click on the button Next>>
  14. Click on the ‘+’-sign of [your-domain-name.com]
  15. Select the folder where you wish to upload your image(s) to
  16. Click on OK if you want to upload but not yet publish the image(s)
    Click on OK & Publish if you want to upload and publish the image(s)
    Click on Cancel if you do not want to save the change
