Chapter 11 | Flash

You can use flash files. The Flash Media module gives you the opportunity to upload swf-files.

Exercise 11.1 | Upload flash files

To upload flash files, go to the Flash Module with the asset Media. Afterwards, follow the steps below;

  1. Click on the folder Flash Files
  2. Click on the icon add folder
  3. Give the folder a name eg my-flash-file and click on OK
  4. Click on the icon Add
  5. Click on the button Select files in the popup
  6. Browse to the folder location where you have saved your flash file(s) on your computer,
  7. Select a flash file or multiple files. You can select multiple files by clicking on them with a pressed CTRL key + left mouse button.
  8. Click on Open
  9. The flash files are loaded.
  10. Once the loading has finished, the popup will show an overview of the selected flash file(s)
  11. You can remove the video in question from the queue by clicking on the recycle bin behind the flash file
    Click on OK if you want to upload the flash file(s) but do not want to publish them
    Click on OK & Publish to upload and publish the flash file(s)
    Click on Cancel if you do not want to upload the flash file(s)

Exercise 11.2  | Apply flash

We are going to apply a flash file, which was uploaded in the previous exercise, on a page in the following exercise. You can also add flash files to articles, news articles and Events.

  1. Go to the Structure and Pages module via the asset Website
  2. Click on the folder you have created
  3. Select your page my-first-page.html
  4. Click on the icon  edit
  5. Click on the icon  edit of the content block where you want to add the flash file to
  6. Click on the icon   flash file
  7. Click on the +-sign of the folder
  8. Click on the +-sign of the folder you created
  9. Select the flash file that you want to add to the page
  10. Click on the button Insert
  11. Click on OK of want to save the page but not yet publish
    Click on OK and Publish to save and publish the page
    Click on Cancel if you do not wish to save the change

Exercise 11.3 | Upload new flash file while editing a page

You can upload new flash files at the same time as you edit a page. You have to follow the steps below to do so;

  1. Go to the page your created in exercise 4.1 via Structure and Pages
  2. Select the page and subsequently click on the icon edit
  3. Change the text block by clicking on the icon editon of the content block
  4. Go to a location in the editor where you wish to insert a flash file
  5. Click on the icon Flash file in the page editor
  6. Click on Upload new flash file
  7. Browse to the folder location where you have saved your flash file(s) on your computer,
  8. Select the flash file or multiple flash files. You can select multiple flash files by clicking on them with a pressed CTRL key + left mouse button.
    Click on Open
    The flash file(s) is (are) loaded
  9. Once the loading has finished, the popup will show an overview of the selected files
  10. You can remove the flash file in question from the queue by clicking on the recycle bin behind the flash file
  11. Click on the button Next>>
  12. Click on the ‘+’-sign of [your-domain-name.com]
  13. Click on OK if you want to upload the flash file(s) but not yet publish
    Click on OK & Publish if you want to upload and publish the flash file(s)
    Click on Cancel if you do not want to save the change
